a bit about me
Michelana is actively involved in music, arts and theater projects that address climate change, humanity issues and anthropocentrism. Her volunteering integrated arts programs for people with special needs and the community as a whole have brought her closer understanding to fundamental social problems. In most of her theater and arts projects, she writes her own texts, composes music and directs her own plays.
Besides teaching piano students from early childhood to teachers' levels, Michelana has acquired over 25 years' teaching experience in various programs, including B.Ed., Diploma in Music Education and teachers' education courses at SCE Hong Kong Baptist University and Chinese University School of Continuing Studies. At BU SCE, she supervised student dissertations, taught specialised studies in music, provided piano teacher training via pedagogy courses and also developed courses from scratch.
Michelana's rationale to teaching and artistic projects is to help students/participants develop not only well-rounded artistry with strong technical competence, but also a unique personality through a multidisciplinary, artistic and humanity approach. She strives to help students learn how to learn, observe, think, imagine, feel, express, and explore the world around them through arts and sciences.
